Located on Katchemak Bay at the southern end of Alaska’s
Kenai Peninsula, Homer is a lively community of artists, fishermen,
and lovers of the outdoors. Crowned the “Halibut Fishing Capital
of the World”, Homer’s proximity to extensive wilderness,
its scenic beauty, and relatively mild climate make it a favorite
destination amongst Alaskans and tourists alike. The center of summer
activity is the Homer Spit, a 5 mile long sand bar extending into
the Bay. This will be our starting point for a number of adventures
including a glacier hike, sea kayak tour, and a yoga class with
dinner at a remote and luxurious lodge. During July, the days are
long with the sun setting after 11pm. making for the dramatic lighting
that Alaska is known for.
