THE TOOLS OF AN ADVANCING PRACTICE
nrtta, asana, kriya & mudra
with Mark Horner & Judy Yu
Part 1 starts Saturday Sept 21, 2024
Part 2 starts Saturday Nov 2, 2024

For experienced practitioners, the various forms of the Nrtta sadhana, asana-angaharas, kriyas and mudras, are essential tools of an advancing yogic sadhana. None stand alone, and all must be mastered and skillfully integrated in order to make applicable the gross structure, free and awaken the inner body, and activate the energetic pathways, all while cultivating a proper mindset. This will support the process of absorption - the basis for pranayama and meditation.
During Fall 2024, this two-part course for experienced students will progressively refine and integrate these important tools, with emphasis on building a direct, embodied understanding of their effects and inter-relationships.
Part 1, beginning Sept 21, will focus on the revised Ananda Tandava. Part 2, beginning Nov 2, will focus on other variations of the Nrtta forms. The asana, kriya, and mudra work will develop sequentially through the two parts. For this reason, part 1 is a prerequisite to part 2. Each part will consist of 4 online sessions, and 2 in-person sessions in Berkeley for local students.

All sessions conducted via Zoom will be recorded and participants will have access to the Part 1 recordings through Nov 2, 2024, and the Part 2 recordings through Dec 21, 2024.
