This workshop series will continue the theme of exploring fundamental components of the Hatha Yogic Sadhana, in depth, “from the inside out”. This was begun in Fall of 2018 with the workshop on Padmasana,
Mastery in Hatha Yoga requires the development of proficiency and discernment on multiple levels. This process unfolds over many years, as the practitioner slowly brings clarity and integration to the gross physical, energetic, and psycho-emotional layers of the body/mind.

The importance of samakonasana & hanumanasana is underscored by the fact that they are components of all three Shadow Yoga Preludes. These essential asanas correct energetic and structural distortions of the legs, pelvic region, and reproductive system. Their mastery opens the doorway to the primary asanas.

The three primary bandhas (mula, uddiyana, and jalandhara) are instrumental in bringing integration, cohesion, and absorption on all levels. As such, the practitioner must slowly gain command over the gross and subtle aspects of bandha in both movement and stillness.
